Short Visit

Today we had a very short visit with the middle girl. Yesterday, the older girl explained that they would be on a field trip today and we probably wouldn't get to see them. The middle girl, however, still has a respiratory infection and wasn't able to go with the group. We tried to go later in the day just in case they returned, but they still had not arrived back at the orphanage.

Whenever we say goodbye to the girls there is quite a flurry of hugs, kisses, and waves goodbye. Just when I think I got through the line, one of them will hug me a second time. Then, not to be outdone, the other two might hug or kiss me again, too. It's a pretty effective way of delaying their departure. Yesterday after we had said goodbye and the girls had scattered their separate ways, I was walking down the hallway at the orphanage and felt a little tug. The youngest one was walking past us, in line with her group. She was walking carefully so as to keep the pace of her line, but waving like crazy.

We can't wait to show you pictures of these girls and tell you their names, but until they are legally ours, we'll refrain from posting pictures online. Her are some pictures we can show you for now.

The first picture is Stan at the cafe near the orphanage.
The second is the hotel where we've been staying.
I will attempt to post a video on this site of the library where we visit the girls.

Even though it seems sure that God has finally brought your family together, there is still a lot of suspense on our end... waiting to learn their names and waiting to see their faces.

There is no greater joy or peace in all of creation than knowing that you belong to someone! We believers can identify with your girls.

Another encouraging post! It's so heartwarming to read how affectionate these girls are!

I know you'll get to this, but I'm curious to know a little more of your next steps. Do you go to Kiev for the court date? Where do you spend the 10 days? What still has to be done after the 10 days is completed? Do you have a target date for arriving back in Indiana? So nice to see some pictures--you are experiencing weather there though not as severe was what we're hearing from Indiana.
Continued love and prayer.
