Drum Roll, Please!

Introducing. . .

Maria Aimee Hartzler

Maria is the transliteration of her Ukrainian name, the name she was given at birth. We gave the middle name Aimee which means loved. Stan particularly likes the French spelling of the name. Her two names also remind us of two of her aunts.

Olena Joy Hartzler

Olena is also a transliteration of her Ukrainian name. It's the Ukrainian form of Helen or Ellen.
Pronunciation of this name is roughly as it would be in Spanish: "o-LEH-nah"

Joy because of the joy she brings into our lives.

Julia Danielle Hartzler

Yulia is the transliteration of her Ukrainian name so we took some liberties with the spelling. It is the Ukrainian version of the name Julie (our facilitator asked if she would be Julie Junior). We also named her Danielle, which reminds us of her sunny disposition and for the prophet Daniel who crossed a culture, learned a new language and became a servant of God's purposes in a new land.
