We went back to visit him again at our usual time and the first thing he told us (through the window) was that she was here. They normally are in the same institution seeing each other all the time, although they have been in two different places since before we arrived and haven't had the chance to talk about us. However, our facilitator was able to bring her out to join us while we were playing a game with her brother. I happened by chance to know enough Russian to announce, "Here we are together now for the first time!" and our facilitator took a lovely picture of the four of us, with the girl happily sitting in Julie's lap and the boy between us. Another highlight of the day was finding out that she had asked our facilitator when she saw him where Mama was.
Tomorrow will be an extremely important day as we go to the social worker's office to ask her to start doing the paperwork. We don't take any step for granted. It is somewhat overwhelming to hear how many documents and offices are involved even before the court hearing, but we'll take it one day at a time and are praising God for his clear answers to prayer so far. Unless he does the building, our own efforts are in vain. (I noticed for the first time this week how well that familiar verse sets up the second half of Psalm 127, which is about the Lord blessing people with children.)

I love it! I love it! The first time all together! These are such great posts/great and fully emotional days for you all. Each day the Lord's care and orchestration is so evident. May the Lord be glorified tomorrow too!
we continue to see how God is working. How great HE worked today for you all. I imagine how Julie felt when the girl said that!!!!
Hugs to all!
We have a mental picture of that first time together and will treasure it till we see it with our eyes! It's great to observe the certainty you indicate that these two are the right children for you.
How precious, precious!
Julie connects so sweetly to my young daughters; it's not hard to imagine that this little girl wants to call her "Mama". (tearing eyes)
And the little "gamer" is a great fit for Stan; all those hours of games with his nephews was just a warm-up. Being a Dad to a young boy who likes to paly games seems so natural.
That will be a photo to cherish!
We will start praying for tomorrow's meeting. (It's fun to be praying for something new everyday :))
The Helmuths and Grosses were all in our living room (celebrating Dad's birthday) when I checked your blog and we had the fun of reading/hearing it all together. Yes, we too will look forward to seeing that first family picture. In the meantime we'll pray for you and the busy days ahead doing that paperwork.
Thinking much of you as you continue to run this marathon. By God's grace, you are not running alone, and He has prepared the way for you
Here's to the first of many, many, many times! :-) I love it that she called Julie "Mama."
Praying, praying, praying...may God's peace surround you today!!!
What an exciting and emotional time that must have been, to have all 4 of you together. May your next visit be even sweeter. :-)
